AI can write your whole homework, but that does not help you in the exam hall. Used the right way, it is like a patient tutor who never gets tired of explaining the same thing ten times.
Five tools, five jobs
- ChatGPT: making hard topics simple, and testing yourself.
- Gemini: Google's tool, works with Gmail and Google Docs.
- Perplexity: when you look something up, it shows its sources so you can check them.
- NotebookLM: give it your own notes or textbook PDF and it answers only from them.
- Canva: presentations and posters, without knowing design.
The most useful prompt: test me
Ask for questions instead of answers. You do the thinking, and you find out where you are weak.
Prompt to copy
I am studying [topic]. Ask me one question at a time. Wait for my answer, then tell me what I got right and wrong.
Three rules for staying honest
- Use AI to understand, but write the work you hand in yourself.
- If your teacher says no AI, follow that rule.
- AI says wrong things with confidence. Check against your book.
Used this way, AI cuts your study time and builds the one thing the exam needs: your own understanding.
